Three Maoists killed in anti-Naxalite operation in Odisha border

As many as three maoists were killed in an anti-maoist operation, including one woman and two male Maoists carrying bounty of Rs 14 lakh.

Bhubaneswar: As many as three Maoists were killed in an encounter in an anti-Naxalite operation in the Odisha border in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district.

The Police and Maoists had an encounter this morning. The bodies of three Maoists have been seized today.

The three Maoists have been identified as Shraban, Rajesh and Basanti. Arms and weapons have been seized from their possession.

The three of them were also carrying a bounty of Rs 14 lakh each on their head. The Police have received success in the anti-naxalite operation.

The Kanker SP also said that the anti-Moaists operations will take place at the border districts. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kanker, I K Elesela, said that during the exchange of fire, two male Maoists and one woman Maoist were neutralised. The slain cadres included an outlaw carrying a bounty of ₹14 lakh.

The encounter broke out in the forested hill region of Chhindkhadak village, under the Kanker police station limits, when a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) from Kanker and Gariaband, along with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, launched a search operation.
