Subarnapur: Adarsha Vidyalaya Principal of Binika arrested by Odisha Vigilance for embezzlement of Rs 55 lakh Govt fund

Sonepur: The principal of the Adarsha Vidyalaya in Binika, in Subarnapur district has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance today for embezzlement of Government fund to the tune of Rs 55 lakh.
The accused has been identified as Soumya Ranjan Kheti.
As per reports, today, i.e., on 22.09.2025, Soumya Ranjan Kheti, Ex Principal of OAV (Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya), Binika has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance for embezzling Govt. money to the tune of Rs.55,02,610/- under MDM, Mo School Abhijan, and Girls’ Hostel Fund Contingencies during the financial year 2021-22 to 2024-25 by abusing his official power.
Kheti was appointed as Principal of Binika Adarsh Vidyalaya w.e.f.29.09.2021. Inputs were received regarding misappropriation of govt funds by Kheti during his tenure, which were enquired into.
Following an enquiry, Odisha Vigilance has registered a case vide Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.19/2025, U/s 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (a) P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018/316/61(2) BNS against Kheti. He has been arrested in the case and is being interrogated to ascertain the details of misappropriation and use of the govt funds.
