Bhubaneswar: Strict enforcement action will follow to ensure compliance with road safety regulations and deter habitual offenders, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate informed this in a press note on Thursday.
It has been observed that a significant number of vehicle owners are habitually violating traffic rules and failing to pay the fines imposed for such violations. In the first phase, 258 such violators have been identified and a formal request was sent by the Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack to the State Transport Authority (STA), Odisha, Cuttack for the cancellation of Registration Certificates (RCs) and Fitness Certificates of the concerned vehicles – the press note by Commissionerate Police also informed.
In this regard, the STA, Odisha, Cuttack has issued instructions to all Regional Transport Officers (RTOs).
