Bhubaneswar: The Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of Odisha, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today.
As informed by the weather department, the line of withdrawal of southwest monsoon now passes through 14°N/72°E, Karwar, Kalburgi, Nizamabad, Kanker, Keonjhargarh, Sagar Island, Guwahati and 28.0°N/ 92.5°E.
Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from remaining parts Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra and northeast States during next 2-3 days, it added.
The weather department also has issued yellow warning saying that light to moderate rain or thunderstorm with Lightning is very likely to occur at a few places over Malkanagiri, Gajapati, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Mayurbhanj during next two hours.
It also advised people to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
