Snake catcher dies after cobra bites him while exhibiting it in Odisha’s Balangir district, watch

Kantabanji: In a tragic incident, a snake catcher died in Balangir district of Odisha on Friday after being bitten by a rescued cobra.

The deceased snake catcher has been identified as Santosh Chand from Sindhekela.
As per reports, after getting a call to rescue a snake, Santosh on Friday went to the Bakagura village under Sindhekela police station limits. There he rescued a cobra from a house.
After rescuing the snake from the house, he played with the snake and displayed it to the crowd when the snake bit his tongue.
People were scared to watch the snake biting on the tongue of the snake catcher. They rescued the snake catcher and rushed him to the hospital in critical condition. However, the doctor declared him dead.
A video of the incident, where the snake catcher had the snake’s head near his tongue before being bitten, has gone viral.
It’s worth noting that Santosh was an experienced snake catcher who had rescued many snakes, including poisonous ones, in the past. Unfortunately, this incident proved fatal.
