Sex racket busted in Keonjhar; 6 arrested, 5 young women rescued
Police have busted sex racket in Govindpur area of Keonjhar town police station limits and arrested six persons and rescued a total of five young women on Monday.
Keonjhar: Police have busted sex racket in Govindpur area of Keonjhar town police station limits and arrested six persons and rescued a total of five young women on Monday.
According to the police, after receiving information from reliable sources about a sex racket being run in a house in Govindpur area, the police conducted a raid and took 11 people into their custody.
The 11 persons include five young women, a woman kingpin, 2 customers (one is from Naranpur and the other from Turumunga area) and 3 brokers.
One of the 5 young women engaged in the prostitution racket is from Jharkhand state, while the other 4 are from Odisha, said police adding that the woman kingpin was arrested and jailed earlier in the similar case.
Apart from taking these 11 persons into custody, police also seized many incriminating materials from them, including 2 motorbikes and 6 mobile phones and cash worth Rs 10,300. Along with this, police sealed the house where the sex racket was being run.
Meanwhile, police have forwarded the six persons – woman kingpin, 2 customers and 3 brokers- to the court after their medical examination.
