Senior Odisha IAS Officer R Santanagopalan promoted to Principal Secretary rank
Senior IAS officer and Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha R Santanagopalan has been promoted to Principal Secretary rank.
Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer and the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha R Santanagopalan has been promoted to the Principal Secretary rank in the Indian Administrative Service.
The General Administration and Public Grievance Department of the state government issued a notification confirming Santanagopalan’s promotion to Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) Level-15 pay scale with effect from January 1, 2026.
After the promotion, R Santanagopalan will continue as the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha. He has also been appointed as ex-officio Principal Secretary of the Home (Elections) Department.
Along with this, he will continue holding the additional charge of the Security & Empowerment of Persons With Disabilities Department (SSEPD), read the notification.
In another order, two senior IAS officers of 2001 batch Shalini Pandit and Dodda Venkata Swamy have been granted proforma promotion to the Principal Secretary rank. Both officers are currently on central deputation.
The promotions have been approved as per IAS Pay Rules, 2016 and DoPT (Department of Personnel & Training) guidelines.
