Rourkela police bust fake lottery racket, 4 arrested, watch

Efforts are ongoing to arrest others involved, some of whom are from outside Odisha.

Rourkela: Police have busted a huge fake lottery racket that has been running since 2008. Over Rs 25 lakh in cash, a scanner, a computer, fake lottery tickets, and 5 mobile phones were seized. The police received information that the racket, run by over 60 agents, has links in various states.

The arrested accused persons have been identified as Sanjay Sahu, Rajesh Kundu, Tukuna Malik, and Uttam Kumar Ghosh.

As per information, police identified eight to 10 people involved to this fake lottery racket. Accordingly, police conducted raids at various places.

A special team led by Rourkela SP Nitesh Wadhwani conducted raids across various areas to bust the racket.

“Police have arrested four accused and seized fake lottery tickets and over Rs 25,37,000 from them,” Wadhwani informed in a press conference on Saturday.

Efforts are ongoing to arrest others involved, some of whom are from outside Odisha. The police team has gone out-of-state to track them.
