Ramu elephant skeleton to be preserved in Godibari Nature Reserve in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The process to recover the skeleton of Ramu elephant has started in Bharatpur forest in Bhubaneswar. The skeleton of the Ramu elephant will be preserved in the Godibari Nature Reserve located within the Chandaka-Dampara Wildlife Sanctuary near Bhubaneswar.

A team of 25 members lead by animal scientist Dr. Sibaprasad Parida have started the process to recover the elephant’s skeleton.

The Ramu elephant was the eldest and biggest jumbo of the Chandaka-Damapada Sancuary. It died at the age of 40 due to an electric shock on August 19 in the year 2024.
