Puri police issues traffic advisory for New Year Day, know how to enter the city and where to park your vehicles

The traffic advisory has been issued for all two wheelers, four wheelers and shuttle services. Check below in detail:

Two Wheelers

  • Two wheelers coming from Bhubaneswar side shall touch Grand road via- Atharnala, Banamber Chhak, Kumbharapada PS, Hospital Chhaka and park their vehicles at Municipality Market complex parking area on first come first priorty basis.
  • After the Municipality Market complex parking place is exhausted, then M/Cs will be diverted to the specified places on the eastern side of road on Grand Road from Market Chhaka to Hospital Crossing.
  • After filling up two parking places the vehicles should be divereted to Old JBPC via Kumabharapada PS, Harijana Sahi, Jatiababa Chhak & Narendra Kona. Their exit will be via Souchalaya Chhak, Devi Ghat and Mangalaghata.
  • Two Wheelers coming from Brahmagiri Side shall park at Old JBPC via Mangalaghata, Devi Ghata, Jatiababji Chhak, Narendra Kona. Their exit will be via Souchalaya Chhak, Devi Ghat and Mangalaghata.
  • Two wheelers coming from Konark side shall park at Municipality Market Complex via Grid Station Chhak, Matiapada. Their exit will be same route.

Four Wheelers:

  • Four Wheelers (Car) coming from Brahmagiri side will be take right turn at Mangalaghata towards Sterling Chhak then Beach Road upto Light House Chhak to park their vehicles at Yatrika and will return via-same route. After fill up Yatrika Parking the vehicles coming to Seabeach side will park their vehicle at designated parking near sterling Chhak.
  • Four Wheelers (Car) from Bhubaneswar side will be proceed to the parking place JBPC via Batagaon, New Bypass road and Srisetu. Their return will on same route.
  • After filling up JBPC Parking they may be diverted to Jail Road Parking via-Batagaon, Atharnala.
  • After the parking for LMV is exhausted at Jail Road parking place, the LMVs will proceed to parking place at Saradhabli Open ground via- Batagaon, Atharnala & Medical Chhaka & Badasankha.
  • When all the above parking place will be filled up or depending upon congestion of vehicles LMVs will be diverted from Malatipatapur ROB to Talabania Parking Places via- Baidas Nagar, Grid Station Chhaka. Vehicles parked at above parking places shall exit via Grid station, Balighat Chhaka, Samngara and Harekrushnapur route.
  • Four Wheelers (Car) coming from Konark side will be proceed to the parking place at Talabania Open ground via Baidas Nagar, Toshali Sands Chhaka, Grid Station Chhaka & Bhudan Chhak

Shuttle Service:

  • Three wheelers coming from Talabania will proceed to Hospital Chhak via Water works road, Odisha Bakery, Ram Mandir, Ghoda Bazar and Red Cross Road after drop the passenger they will return Via Red Cross road, Ghoda Bazar, Ram Mandir, Shree KhetraColony, Mangala Mandir.
  • Three wheelers coming from Talabania towards Seabeach side will allowed upto Town Hall Chhaka via Penthakata chhaka, CT Road, Youth Hostel, Urban Hata, Zilla School and SCS College Chhaka.
  • Three wheelers will not be allowed to arourd the Temple. Similarly, three wheelers are restricted to proceed towards Lion’s gate from Solakhia Baragachha Chhaka in Balisahi road, Towards North gate from Biseswari Temple, Towards Lion’s Gate from Mochi sahi Chhaka and Brusav Chhaka in Lokanath Road.

Meanwhile, Puri SP Prateek Singh convened an important briefing meeting to ensure the safety, well-organized crowd management and smooth traffic arrangements.

A total of 122 newly recruited Home Guards and NCC cadets participated in this briefing program. They were informed in detail about crowd control, formation of human chain in the barricade area, proper guidance of devotees, and playing a responsible role in emergency situations.

On this occasion, the SP addressed all the newly recruitees and said that discipline, patience and humane behavior are very important in crowd management. He gave special instructions on how to safely move the devotees forward while forming a human chain near the barricade.
