Puri police asks visitors to follow these DOs and DON’Ts at sea beach, prohibits these items inside Jagannath Temple
Anticipating huge rush of visitors to Puri on the occasion of New Year’s eve and New Year Day, Puri police has made elaborate arrangement to maintain law and order and avoid any untoward incident.

As part of its preparation, police had issued DOs and DON’Ts for people visiting the sea beach in the city. Besides, it has prohibited some items inside the Shree Jagannath Temple.
This apart, it also has opened control rooms-cum-police facilitation center/ help desk for December 31 and New Year 2026.
DOs
- Follow instructions of Puri Police, Lifeguards & Volunteers.
- Swim only in designated safe zones
- Keep children under constant supervision.
- Use dustbins and keep the beach clean.
- Protect your belongings; stay alert.
- Wear light clothing and stay hydrated.

DON’Ts
- Do not enter deep sea or restricted areas.
- Do not swim during rough sea or red-flag warning.
- Avoid alcohol consumption on the beach.
- Do not litter or damage public property.
- Avoid overcrowded or unsafe spots.
- Do not ignore safety announcements.

Meanwhile, devotees have been requested to deposit prohibited items at authorized locker/mobile deposit counters, cooperate with police personnel, follow temple rules for smooth and peaceful darshan.
Entry will be denied if prohibited items are carried violation may lead to security action.
