Popular Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar recovering, shifted to general ward from ICU of AIIMS Bhubaneswar
Good news for the family, followers and well-wishers of popular Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar, he is gradually recovering as he has been shifted to the general ward of the AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar: Good news for the family, followers and well-wishers of popular Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar, he is gradually recovering as he has been shifted to the general ward of the AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
According to the latest press release issued by the AIIMS hospital authorities, Majumdar’s neurological condition is status quo, comatose with GCS- E2, VT, M2-3 and his repeat MRI brain was done on September18, reveals no improvement from previous radiological findings.
Likewise, his percutaneous tracheostomy was done on 9th September in view of prolonged mechanical ventilation and his blood stream infection and pneumonia resolved, revealed the press release.
Now, he is out of ventilator support for more than 48 hours and his renal function, and liver function tests are normal. Besides, his Electrolytes are corrected, it added.
The press release further said that Majumdar is currently on physiotherapy and other supportive management. His vitals are stable at present. He was shifted out of ICU today morning (11am).
At present, he is kept in the Medicine ward of the central government hospital for continuation of his treatment.
Following his admission to the AIIMS emergency ward on September 4 in a comatose state, on ventilator support, he was shifted to Medical ICU for further management. On evaluation, he was found to have:
- Osmotic Demyelination Syndrome (both pontine and extrapontine)
- Bilateral Pneumonia (HAP)
- Blood stream infection (MDRO- Acinetobacter)
- Chronic liver disease
- Dyselectrolytemia (hypokalaemia, hypophosphatemia, hypomagnesemia)
- Nutritional deficiency (Vitamin D, Folic acid)
