Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Odisha’s freedom fighter Parvati Giri at the last episode of the ‘Mann Ki Baat ‘ program on Sunday. PM Modi paid tribute to the unsung heros of the country and remembered Parvati Giri and noted that her birth centenary will be observed in January 2026. He also encouraged citizens to explore the “Unsung Heroes” section on the government’s freedom struggle portal.
Parvati Giri joined the fight for freedom at the age of only 16. She dedicated her life to social work and welfare. To help the orphaned children, she had opened many orphanage in the state. Her life style will continue to inspire today’s youth.
The PM talked about how the year 2025 has been a landmark year for the sports community of the country with the girls bringing pride for the nation. The PM lauded the nation’s achievements over the past year and urged citizens to step into 2026 with renewed energy, faith, and commitment toward building a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
