Passengers narrowly escape another Bahanaga accident due to fault in train signals

Another Bahanaga train accident was averted due to faulty signals of the Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatbdi Express and the Shatbadi Express in Balasore.

Soro: Another Bahanaga incident might have happened which got narrowly avoided in the Soro station in Balasore district.

According to information, the Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express was supposed to arrive at Soro railway station at 5:36 pm yesterday and should have left at 5:46 pm. The signal for which was given which is similar to the case of Bahanaga train accident.

But at that time, the Shatabdi Express going from Howrah to Puri was coming at a slow speed as it did not get the green signal. But the loco pilot, due to carelessness, pushed the train ahead from Soro station.

As a result, the signal received by the previous train gave a red light signal suddenly. As a result, the Howrah Jan Shatabdi was stopped at Soro station and the Shatabdi Express was stopped at Marcona station.

The train’s loco pilot, additional driver and guard at Marcona station have been removed. Senior officials have reached the spot and are questioning the three employees.

This reminds us of the Bahanaga train accident that took place on the ill-fated night of June 2, 2023.
