Paradip: Scooty rider crushed to death by speeding truck

Paradip: In a tragic incident a scooty rider was killed after being crushed by a speeding truck in the Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha on Saturday. The accident took place near the zero point area under Paradip’s Lock Police Station limits.
The deceased man has been identified as Ajay Kumar Rout of Gopiakud village. He was a lecturer in the Kujang College.
As per reports, this evening, Ajay was going to Paradip from Gopiakud village on his scooty for some work. Near the zero point area, a truck that was coming from the opposite direction, that is from Paradip and going towards Chandikhol, lost control due to the narrowness of the road and hit the scooty rider.
As a result, the scooty rider died on the spot while the truck driver fled after abandoning the truck.
After getting information about the road mishap, the LockThana police reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy. Police have initiated investigation of the case.
