Odisha’s Similipal National Park reopens for tourists, major footfall expected

In a good news for tourists, Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha will be reopening from today.

Karanjia: The highly popular tourist destination in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district shall reopen today that is on Saturday. Tourists can now enter the sanctuary through two gates, said reports.

Reports said, tourists are already present at the spot and are entering through the Pithabata and Kaliani gates. Tourists can now enjoy the tiger reserve project. Permission has been granted to enter the tiger project. This information has been given by the Simlipal Tiger Conservation Project Office.

From today, tourists will get the opportunity to travel around the core area of the nature reserve in an open jeep and see wildlife. Similipal sanctuary was closed from June 30 due to the rainy season.

While it generally opens on November 1 every year, it opened on October 18 this year keeping in mind the festive season, Simlipal has been opened in advance with the aim of attracting more tourists.
