Odisha Vigilance gets one more conviction success as former CDPO gets 4 years’ of jail term
Odisha Vigilance achieved yet another conviction success as Meena Patra, the former CDPO of ICDS Project in Lanjigarh at Biswanathpur (retired) was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of 4 years.
Kalahandi: Odisha Vigilance achieved yet another conviction success as Meena Patra, the former CDPO of ICDS Project in Lanjigarh at Biswanathpur (retired) was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of 4 years.
Meena Patra also has been directed to pay a fine of Rs 1,00,000.
Meena was charge-sheeted by the Vigilance in a case vide Koraput Vigilance PS case No.21 dt.03.10.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 for demanding and taking bribe Rs 80,000 from functionary of a SHG for clearing bills regarding supply of Chhatua under Supplementary Nutrition Programme.
Further, the convict Meena Patra was sent to jail custody to serve her sentence.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of her pension following her conviction.

Likewise, former Amin (retired) under Tarva Tahasil of Subarnapur, Sahu Meher, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 for demanding and taking bribe for demarcation of plots of a land owner, was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Balangir today and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and fine.
