Odisha Vigilance on Sunday arrested Forest Range Officer Rajendra Kumar Samantray of Rahama Forest Range, Jagatsinghpur district
Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance on Sunday arrested Forest Range Officer Rajendra Kumar Samantray of Rahama Forest Range, Jagatsinghpur district, for possessing disproportionate assets (DA).
The officer was found with a palatial multi-storeyed building, a double-storeyed building, five valuable plots, cash of Rs. 3.69 lakh, 250 grams of gold, and bank deposits totaling Rs. 80.68 lakh.
Samantray will be forwarded today before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, in connection with the possession of the disproportionate assets.
Based on searches conducted on properties of Samantray, he was found with the disproportionate assets which included one palatial multi storeyed building, 1 double storeyed building, 5 valuable plots, cash of Rs 3.69 lakhsm gold 250 gms, deposits of Rs 80.68 lakhs, which he could not explain satisfactorily.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance Police Station has registered Case No. 37/2025 against him under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
