A man reportedly brutally killed a youth for allegedly misbehaving with his daughter at Dadaraghati Police outpost area of Dhenkanal district and surrendered before the police today.

One Rupa Pingua of Mahanpasi village reportedly killed Karunakara Behera of Colony No 1 of Akhuapal Grama Panchayat allegedly after the latter misbehaved with the former’s daughter.
According to reports, Karunakara Behera, who was working as a JCB Machine helper, was working at Mahanpasi village for the last several days. However, he was allegedly misbehaving with Rupa Pingua’s daughter yesterday.
Rupa Pingua, who noticed when Behera was misbehaving with his daughter, attacked him with a sharp weapon out of anger causing his death on the spot.
Later, Pingua disposed Behera’s body in a canal near the village and surrender himself before the police at Dadaraghati Police outpost.
Meanwhile, upon receiving the news, deceased Karunakar’s father Kashinath and other relatives reached Mahanpasi village and claimed that Karunakar was attacked and killed by group of people. They demanded that police should conduct a proper investigation and arrest all the accused involved in the murder case.
On the other hand, police recovered the body after reaching the spot and are interrogating the Rupa Pingua in connection with the incident. They also have reportedly seized the weapon used in the ghastly murder case.
