Odisha issues new notification of one-time settlement scheme, defaulters have to pay half of their challans

Odisha Commerce and Transport department has issued a new notification of one-time settlement (OTS) scheme saying that the traffic rule violators have to pay half of their challans.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Commerce and Transport Department has issued a new notification of One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme saying that the traffic rule violators have to pay half of their challans. However, it is applicable only for the offences committed on or before July 31, 2025.

The Mohan Majhi cabinet had last month approved the one-time settlement (OTS) scheme to encourage traffic rule violators to settle the dues.

“In continuation to this Department Notification No. 11521 dt. 17.09.2025, and in exercise of powers conferred under sub-section (1) of Section 200 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (32 of 2019) the State Government do hereby direct that, the offences committed on or before 31/07/2025 and punishable under the following sections of the MV Act 1988 may be compounded, on payment of compounding fee as prescribed below,” read the notification.

“The Challans in respect of which Prosecution Reports (PR) has been submitted to designated Courts will not come under the purview of the Scheme,” it added.
