Odisha govt gives promotions to senior IPS officers, check details

Odisha government has reportedly given promotions to several senior IPS officers ahead of the New Year, informed the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has reportedly given promotions to several senior IPS officers ahead of the New Year 2026, informed the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department.

According to the notification of the GA&PG Department, IPS officer Madkar Sandeep Sampat is promoted to the grade of DIG of Police in IPS in Level-13A of Pay Matrix with effect from January 1, 2026 and is posted in-situ, until further orders.

Likewise, IPS officer Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, who is on Central Deputation, is also allowed proforma promotion to the grade of DIG of police in IPS in Level-13A of Pay Matrix.

Similarly, IPS officers Dr. Satyajit Naik and Dr. Umashankar Dash have been promoted to the grade of IG of Police in IPS in Level-14 of Pay Matrix with effect from January 1, 2026 and are posted in-situ, until further orders.

The state government also gave promotion to 2008-batch IPS officer Prakash R. to the grade of IG of Police in IPS in Level-14 of Pay Matrix. Currently, he is on Central Deputation.

As informed by the GA&PG Department, three more IPS officers – Jagmohan Meena, Parmar Smit Parshottamdas and Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo- have been promoted to the Selection Grade in IPS in Level-13 of Pay Matrix with effect from January 1, 2026 and are posted in-situ, until further orders.

IPS offers Rahul P.R., Anupama James, and L. Divya V. also are allowed proforma promotion to the Selection Grade in IPS in Level-13 of Pay Matrix. All trio of them are currently on central deputation.
