Odisha govt bans creation of reels inside Lok Seva Bhawan premises

The Odisha Government has banned creation of reels videos, or photographs inside the Lok Seva Bhawan premises.

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Sunday released a official notification warning all employees, officials, contractual staff, and visitors to not create, record and post reels, videos, or photographs inside the Lok Seva Bhawan premises and sharing them on social media. The government has warned that strict action will be taken immediately against violators.

Earlier on Friday, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan warned that the government will take strong action against those filming reels on the premises of the Lok Seva Bhawan after a video filmed in the Lok Seva Bhawan was shared widely on social media.

The official Notification said that the Lok Seva Bhawan/ Rajiv Bhawan/ Kharavel Bhawan is a high-security and sensitive government establishment. Creation of reels and videos inside the premises, affects the decorum, discipline, and integrity of the office environment. The notice also said that this also adversely impacts the image and dignity of Government.

Here is what the official notification reads,

” Recently, it has been noticed that some employees and other persons are creating social media reels/videos within the Lok Seva Bhawan premises and posting the same on various social media platforms.

The Lok Seva Bhawan/ Rajiv Bhawan/ Kharavel Bhawan is a high-security and sensitive government establishment. Creation of such content within the premises not only affects the decorum, discipline, and integrity of the office environment but also has the potential to adversely impact the image and dignity of Government.

In view of the above, all employees, officials, contractual staff, visitors, and any other persons are hereby strictly refrained from creating, recording, or uploading any kind of social media reels, videos, or photographs for personal or public sharing of the above premises.

Any violation of this order shall be viewed seriously and may attract appropriate disciplinary and administrative action as per the applicable rules.
All concerned are directed to strictly comply with this order in letter and spirit.”
