Notorious arms dealer arrested in Odisha, 10 semiautomatic guns seized

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police in the capital city of Odisha on Saturday arrested notorious arms dealer.

The accused has been identified as Sheikh Nadim, son of Sheikh Hakim of Itatikiri village under Krishnanandapur police station in Jagatsinghpur district.

As per in the information received, Nadim was under surveillance for a month after authorities received information about his attempts to sell modern weapons to local traders.

Today, following his arrest, 10 semi-automatic guns, 18 live bullets and 10 magazines were seized from Sheikh Nadim. Along with this, a mobile phone and a motorbike have also been seized. Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Special Crime Unit has seized.

Earlier also Nadim was involved in a police encounter in 2015 for illegal arms trade.

Preliminary investigations also link him to five other criminal cases, which are currently being verified.
