New regional party to be formed soon in Odisha, hints senior politician Md Moquim, watch
Moquim's comments come amidst speculation about his possible involvement in forming a new party
Bhubaneswar: Senior politician Mohammad Moquim has hinted at the formation of a new regional party in Odisha soon. Moquim, who was recently expelled from Congress, stated that several youth leaders and intellectuals are in talks with him, and they’re looking for a big platform to address the current political scenario in the state.
Moquim’s comments come amidst speculation about his possible involvement in forming a new party, especially after his meetings with senior leaders, including Bijoy Mohapatra, a founding figure of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
The move is seen as a response to the BJD’s decline and the BJP’s growing influence in Odisha.
Moquim has emphasized the need for a new leadership that resonates with the youth and strengthens the party’s base in the state. He also criticized the current leadership, citing their inability to win elections and connect with grassroots workers.
