Keonjhar: Good news for the traditional artists of the state. As the year 2025 ends and New Year 2026 is all set to begin, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has increased their allowance under Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana.
The Chief Minister made the announcement about the hikes of the artists’ allowance while attending the 48th State-level Pala Sammilani held at Park Lane in Keonjhar today.
He said that the allowance has been increased in honor of the artists who protect and propagate Odia heritage.
As per the Chief Minister’s announcement, the allowance of the artists between the ages of 40 and 80 has been increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 per month. Similarly, the monthly allowance of artists above the age of 80 has been increased from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500.
With this, a total of 47,704 artists and their families in the state will benefit.
