Monsoon to retreat, winter to set in from October 15 in Odisha
Monsoon will start withdrawing from Odisha in two to three days and the state shall experience winter chill from October 15
Bhubaneswar: Monsoon shall slowly retreat from Odisha and the weather department predicts that winter will arrive by October 15. Monsoon will start withdrawing from Odisha in two to three days.
The weather is favorable for the return of monsoon. Odisha saw monsoons for a stretch of 4 months and 13 days. The monsoon is however now all set to retreat from the state.
On the other hand, a cyclonic circulation is active at an altitude of 3.1 km above sea level over South Bangladesh and the adjoining North Bay of Bengal. Due to its influence, it is raining in various parts of the state. Today, light to moderate rain is likely at some places in South Odisha, North Odisha, interior and coastal Odisha.
The weather will remain dry in other districts. A yellow warning has been given to Koraput district.
It will rain in the state till tomorrow. After the rain, winter will set in. The Meteorological Department has predicted that winter will set in in the state from October 15.
