Misappropriating govt money: Assistant Teacher convicted, sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment
Assistant Teacher Sanjaya Kumar Mallick, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for misappropriating government money, has been convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment.
Boudh: Assistant Teacher Sanjaya Kumar Mallick, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for misappropriating government money, has been convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment.
Mallick, who is currently working as Assistant Teacher of Gundulia UGHS in Boudh Block, was appointed in-charge of Headmaster-cum-Secretary of Project Upper Primary School (PUPS) in Boudh Block was caught by the Vigilance for misappropriating government money without executing the construction work of Project Upper Primary School building at Budhibalanda.
He was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(c)(d) PC Act, 1988/409/120B IPC. Today, the Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani convicted him and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of four years and pay a fine of Rs 20,000.
Further, the convict was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of the assistant teacher from service following his conviction.
