Minor girl rape in Bhubaneswar, Landlord arrested

Bhubaneswar: A minor girl was allegedly raped by landlord of her house where her family was staying in Bhubaneswar. Later, the landlord has been arrested.
The incident took place on December 4, where the accused, identified as Naresh Mohanty, a betel shop owner attemped to rape the minor girl when her parents were not present at home.
Taking advantage of the situation, the accused landlord forcibly raped her inside the residence. He threatened to kill her if she disclosed it to anyone. When the minor girl’s parents returned from work, they saw their daughter crying and writhing in pain.
On questioning, the minor girl informed her parents about the incident. The parents immediately filed a complaint at the Mahila police station.
Following the complaint, the police began their probe and arrested the accused.
Meanwhile, the accused has been arrested and have been produced in the court under POCSO ACT Sec-6 and BNS Sec- 65(1).
