Picnic outing turns into tragic as two youth drown while bathing in Sitakund Waterfall near Similipal
Baripada: A picnic outing turned tragic on Sunday afternoon at Sitakund waterfall, located at the foothills of Similipal in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, as two youths met watery grave while they were taking bathe in the waterfall.
While the identity of the two deceased youths is yet to be ascertained, it has been learnt that they are natives of the Bhadrak district.
As per sources, a few youths had visited the Sitakund waterfall early in the morning today for a picnic. While they were taking bath in the waterfall, they somehow slipped into deep water and drowned.
After getting information, the fire services personnel rushed to the spot and initiated a search operation. After some time they traced out the bodies of the two youths. They fished out the bodies from the water and then sent to the hospital for post-mortem.
After getting information, Baripada Sadar police reached the spot and initiated an investigation to find out under what circumstances they drowned in the fall.
