Angul: In a shocking incident, a man was allegedly beaten to death in de-addiction centre in Ranigoda area under Angul town police limit.
According to sources, the man went to the rehab centre to get de-addicted few days back. However, he was admitted to a nearby hospital after his health condition deteriorated. When his family reached the hospital, the doctor informed the men to be dead. When inspected, they family found beaten marks on his body.
Following the incident, they registered a case in the police station alleging him to be beaten to death. Based on the registered case, the cops have initiated a detailed probe into the matter. Further detailed reports related to the issue are awaited.
Earlier today, a person was killed, while another is critically injured in bike accident in Odisha’s Khurda district. The incident occurred in Sanahantuada Bridge under Banapur police limits of the district.
According to sources, two man identified as Balram Nayak and Sumanta Nayak were on their way to Pankala village from Banapur when they met with the accident. Following the incident, Balram Nayak died on the spot, while Sumanta was rushed to nearby hospital in critical condition. He has been further shifted to Bhubaneswar hospital as his condition deteriorated.
