1 killed, another severely injured in road accident in Odisha’s Khurda district

Khurda: In a tragic incident, a person was killed, while another is critically injured in bike accident in Odisha’s Khurda district. The incident occurred in Sanahantuada Bridge under Banapur police limits of the district.

According to sources, two man identified as Balram Nayak and Sumanta Nayak were on their way to Pankala village from Banapur when they met with the accident. Following the incident, Balram Nayak died on the spot, while Sumanta was rushed to nearby hospital in critical condition. He has been further shifted to Bhubaneswar hospital as his condition deteriorated.

On receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. Further detailed reports related to the matter are awaited.

In a similar instance today, a person died while another was critically injured after a truct hit another truck in Odisha’s Sundergarh district. The incident occurred in Chunaghati under Kebalanga police limits of the district.

According to sources, an iron-ore laden lost its control on breaks following which it rammed into another truck ahead of it. In the accident, the driver of the truck died on the spot while the helper remained trapped inside it.

After receiving information about the incident, police and fire service personnel reached the spot and initiated operation to rescue the trapped helper. They further rushed the injured to the nearby hospital, while seized the dead body and sent it for autopsy.
