Irate locals today blocked the Unit-8 DAV-CRP Square road in Bhubaneswar following the murder of a local youth and demanded the arrest of the accused persons.
Bhubaneswar: Irate locals today blocked the Unit-8 DAV-CRP Square road in Bhubaneswar following the murder of a local youth and demanded the arrest of the accused persons.
A group of miscreants had reportedly launched a murderous attack on one Jitendra Das alias Bablu infront of his house in Nayapali area on December 27. Since then, he was undergoing treatment at the hospital but succumbed to his injuries this morning.
Following his death today, Bablu’s family members with the support of the local residents blocked the Unit-8 DAV-CRP Square road by burning tyres and demanding action against the accused persons.
The protesters also alleged that Bablu’s body was being taken elsewhere instead of being handed over to the family members. They demanded Bablu’s body after post-mortem.
Several vehicles were left stranded on the road following the road blockade on the busy route of the State Capital City.
On being informed, a police team from Nayapali Police station reached the spot and held a discussion with the protesters. Later, the zonal DCP also rushed to the site and convinced the protesters to withdraw the road-blockade.
Meanwhile, police have found a new twist to the murder case and informed that Bablu was killed over love triangle and this angle of the murder case is also being interrogated.
On the other hand, two persons including a minor boy have been arrested for their role in Bablu’s murder.
