Leopard dies after falling into trap set for boar hunting in Angul, 1 arrested
The Forest Department has arrested a hunter in connection with the death of leopard that died after falling trap set for hunting.
Angul: The Forest Department has arrested a hunter in connection with the death of leopard on Sunday.
According to sources, the leopard died on Tuesday after falling into a snare set for hunting of boar in the forest near Mallahar sahi in Angul.
The arrested hunter is identified as Ganeswar Naik of Nandapur village. The Forest Department has also seized tools, weapons used for hunting of forest animals from Ganeswar .
He was caught red-handed by the Forest Department while returning from the forest at around 5:30 am on Thursday.
