Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) founder Achyuta Samanta has become the FIVB Volleyball Foundation member.
FIVB President Fabio Azevedo made the announcement about Samanta becoming the FIVB Volleyball Foundation member during a special event yesterday.
With this Samanta has earned the honour of becoming the first Indian to be the FIVB Foundation member.
It is to be noted here that Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) is world’s largest volleyball association with 222 member countries.
For the past eight years, the KIIT and KISS founder has been personally associated with FIVB for his outstanding work in the field of promotion of sports, especially volleyball.
After becoming the FIVB Foundation member, Samanta will work on the promotion of volleyball across the world and social responsibility.
Meanwhile, Samanta expressed his gratitude to FIVB and thanked Fabio. “I feel humbled to share that FIVB President Mr Fabio Azevedo has announced his proposal to include me as a Board Member on the Strategic Council of the Volleyball Foundation under the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) from next year,” he said.
“I am grateful for this trust and goodwill. Volleyball has always been close to my heart, and through KIIT and KISS, I shall continue to work for the promotion of sport and social responsibility worldwide. This strengthens my resolve to serve with sincerity and gratitude,” he added.
