In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, released on Thursday, KIIT secured a place in the 501 cohort worldwide, marking a significant rise in both its global and national standings.

Bhubaneswar: The city-based KIIT University has once again demonstrated its excellence on the global academic stage. In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, released on Thursday, KIIT secured a place in the 501 cohort worldwide, marking a significant rise in both its global and national standings.

Among 2,191 universities evaluated across the world, KIIT has been ranked in the top 501 band globally, 5th among 128 Indian universities, and 1st in Odisha.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) holds the top national position, while KIIT stands proudly among the country’s leading institutions.

In the Academic Excellence category, KIIT is ranked 259th globally–a testament to its commitment to high-quality research and innovation.

The university also excelled in Industry Integration, Internationalization, and Social Commitment (SDG), reaffirming its holistic approach to education.

KIIT continues to hold the No. 1 position in Eastern India and Odisha, distinguishing itself as a young yet globally competitive institution. Educationists have lauded its rapid progress and vision under the leadership of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT and KISS.
