Angul: Angul District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) junior clerk Subrata Behera accused of misappropriating funds. Crores of rupees have been looted from the government treasury.
According to reports, Rs 2 crore 38 crores have gone to his account. The audit team is investigating the matter after it came under the scanner. There is a lot of corruption in the district head hospital. Angul CDMO has written a letter to the district treasury regarding how Subrata’s account was receiving huge sums of money.
Subrata’s salary was changed every month. No one suspected him because he was an accountant. In a few months he showed the basic salary of Rs 1 lakh 42 thousand and in few others he showed it as Rs 3 lakh 47 thousand. Even in one month, he took three times more than the salary by showing the basic salary of Rs 6 lakh.
Questions have been raised about how the clerk looted so much money without the knowledge of the employees. Even though the basic salary was changing every month, how could the officer in charge not know? Now various questions have arisen. Whether only Subrata or a big syndicate is working behind the entire scam, an investigation is underway.
What is strange is that Subrata’s real salary was Rs. 35 thousand to Rs. 40 thousand rupees. But by overstating the salary, he has embezzled crores. Further details awaited in this matter.
