In view of the unrest in Malkangiri district, the internet curfew has been extended for another 18 hours due to this the internet services will remain suspended till 12 PM tomorrow, informed the district administration.

Since the recovery of the decapitated body of a woman from near the Dudumetla river, there has been unrest between the villagers of MV-26 and Rakhelguda.
However, the district and police administrations are taking all possible measures to restore peace and normalcy in the area. As a part of its precautionary measures, the state government had suspended internet services for 24 hours. However, it further extended for another 18 hours, meaning the internet services will remain suspended till 12 PM tomorrow.
On the other hand, the last rites of the deceased woman were performed today.
Odisha Chief Miniser Mohan Charan Majhi also announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the kin of the deceased woman while the district administration has already handed over a cheque of Rs 30,000 to her son today.
Meanwhile, the district and police administrations are taking all possible measures to restore peace and normalcy in the area. Apart from deploying adequate security personnel including cetral forces, police have installed several CCTV cameras in MV-26 village for security reasons.
The District Adivasi Samaj Mahasangh has submitted a 7-point demand letter to the District Magistrate. A peace meeting of the two villagers was held in the presence of the District Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP).
