Injured 10 foot long python rescued in Kalahandi of Odisha, watch

Forest Department’s Snake Helpline staff rescued the injured python in Madhupur of Phupgaon panchayat under Koksara Block

Koksara: A huge 10-foot python was attacked and bitten by stray dogs ​​near a farm in Madhupur village of Phupgaon Panchayat under Koksara Block of Kalahandi district in Odisha on Friday.

Initially some locals saw the stray dogs attacking the python and informed the Snake Helpline members of Dharmagarh Forest Department. Accordingly, the snake helpline team of the Forest Department reached the spot and rescued the seriously injured python. They took it to the Veterinary Hospital in Koksara for treatment.

The python was provided primary treatment there. According to the vets, even now, the condition of the python is said to be critical.

The forest department has kept the python in its custody. It will do so till the huge reptile recovers. Later, the Department will release it into the forest, the forest department staff informed.
