Balasore: India successfully tested the first rail-based launch of Agni Prime Ballistic Missile yesterday. The successful test-fire took place from the Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.

India successfully test-fired the medium-range Agni-Prime ballistic missile from a railway-based mobile launcher system at around 6.40 pm yesterday.

The next-generation missile is designed to cover a range of up to 2000 km and is equipped with various advanced features.

This successful flight test places India among the select few nations that have developed a canisterized launch system from a mobile railway network.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO, Strategic Force Command (SFC) and the Armed Forces for the successful test-fire of the medium-range Agni-Prime missile.
