Humane Sagar’s death case: Singer Arpita Choudhury applies for anticipatory bail

In a recent development in the death case of noted Odia singer Humane Sagar, Arpita Choudhury, one of the accused of the case and his co-singer, has moved the Orissa High Court seeking anticipatory bail.

Cuttack: In a recent development in the death case of noted Odia singer Humane Sagar, Arpita Choudhury, one of the accused of the case and his co-singer, has moved the Orissa High Court seeking anticipatory bail.

The development comes a day after Cuttack DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo informed that police have intensified its investigation into the matter and have sought information about Humane Sagar’s treatment and financial transactions.

The Cuttack DCP also had informed that all the individuals made accused in the FIR lodged by Humane Sagar’s mother Sephali Suna will be interrogated soon.

Earlier, music director Somesh Satpathy also has approached the top court for anticipatory bail.

It is to be noted here that police have registered two separate cases based on the complaints lodged by Sephali Suna on December 23. She had demanded urgent, deep, multi-angle probe into Human Sagar’s suspicious and untimely death including financial irregularities.

In the complaint, Sephali Suna had named a group of people including Humane Sagar’s wife Shreya Mishra, Dr. Subhendu Mishra, singer Arpita Choudhury, his mangers Dinesh Behera and Prashant Behera, music director Somesh Satpathy, Md. Abid (Bablu), Lulu Mohanty and Jagdish Mohanty.

Controversy erupted ever since Sephali Suna made several allegations soon after Humane Sagar’s death during treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on November 17.
