Govt officials’ leaves cancelled as IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rain
Nabarangpur district administration today cancelled all leaves of the Odisha government officials in view of the heavy to very heavy rainfall prediction by the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Nabarangpur: Nabarangpur district administration today cancelled all leaves of the Odisha government officials in view of the heavy to very heavy rainfall prediction by the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The government officials have been directed to report back to their respective headquarters immediately. Besides, the officers and staff have been directed not to leave their respective headquarters from September 25 onwards until further orders without prior permission of the district Collector.
“As per the special bulletin received from IMD, a low-pressure lay is likely to form and become a depression and likely to cross South Odisha, North Andhra Pradesh coasts around 27th September, 2025. Heavy to Very Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur in Nabarangpur District,” read a notification issued by the Collectorate.
“In view of the above, all the leaves of Government officials of Nabarangpur district are hereby cancelled and they are directed to report back to their respective headquarters immediately. All the officers and staff should not leave their respective headquarters from 25.09.2025 onwards until further orders without prior permission of the Collector, Nabarangpur,” it added.
The notification further warned that any deviation will be viewed seriously.
The district administrations of Koraput and Malkangiri have already cancelled the leaves of its employees in view of the heavy to very heavy rainfall prediction by the IMD.
