Free bus service for school children to come up in Odisha, govt approves proposal
While traveling in the bus, the student will have to wear school uniform and I-card.
Bhubaneswar: Free bus service for school children is going to be introduced in Odisha. Once started this scheme, the students can travel to school for free.
As per information, the State government has approved the proposal submitted by the School and Mass Education Department in this regard.
The government aims to reduce the drop-out rate of students in schools through this initiative. This service will be available under the Chief Minister’s Bus Service Scheme.
School children can travel in both AC and non-AC buses. However, while traveling on the bus, students will have to wear their school uniform and carry their I-card. This scheme will be implemented on routes with a maximum number of schools.
