Former IAS officer and MD of ORHDC Vinod Kumar convicted for 12th time

This is the 12th conviction involving corruption in ORHDC by Vinod Kumar, IAS, Former MD and other officials by hatching criminal conspiracy with private persons.

Bhubaneswar: Vinod Kumar, IAS, former Managing Director of Orissa Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC), Bhubaneswar, was convicted for the 12th time in a corruption case today.

The Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, sentenced Vinod Kumar and six others to rigorous imprisonment (RI) for three years each and imposed a fine.

The convicted individuals include:

– Vinod Kumar, IAS, Former Managing Director, ORHDC

– Swosti Ranjan Mohapatra, Ex-Company Secretary

– Pradeep Kumar Rout, Ex-Accounts Officer

– Satya Prakash Behera, Ex-Junior Loan Officer

– Janendra Swain, Ex-System Analyst

– Umesh Chandra Swain, Ex-Recovery Assistant

– Samgram Keshari Sahoo, Proprietor of M/S-Ecstasy Builders & Developers Pvt. Ltd

They were charged with misappropriating government funds (ORHDC) worth Rs. 52,95,000 by diverting funds meant for rural poor people to benefit private builder Sangram Keshari Sahoo through fake and forged documents.
