Firecrackers being carried on scooty explode in Bhubaneswar, father-daughter critical
A man along with his daughter sustained critical burn injuries after firecrackers which they were carrying on a scooty exploded on National Highway (NH)-16 at Jayadev Vihar overbridge in Bhubaneswar this evening.
Bhubaneswar: A man along with his daughter sustained critical burn injuries after firecrackers which they were carrying on a scooty exploded on National Highway (NH)-16 at Jayadev Vihar overbridge in Bhubaneswar this evening.
The father-daughter was reportedly going towards Rasulgarh area on their schooty (OD02BQ5642) after purchasing firecrackers from Jatni. However, the firecrackers exploded all of a sudden when they had reached the Jayadev Vihar overbridge.
The sparking got spread and reportedly fell on the bonnet of a car, OD33AN5382. Due to this, the bonnet was partially burnt.
Noticing the explosion, the commuters out of fear did not go near the scooty. As a result, the road was blocked for some time. Later, the fire brigade and Commissionerate Police reached the spot and took control of the situation,
An ambulance was also called in which the father and daughter were sent to the hospital for treatment.
