Elderly man killed in Ganjam after being thrashed with bamboo

Sorada: In a tragic incident, an elderly man was thrashed with a bamboo to death in Ganjam district of Odisha yesterday. The incident took place in the Swargadwar village in Gochha panchayat under Sorada Police Station limits in the district.
The deceased elderly man has been identified as Shishir Swain of Singipur village.
As per the locals the deceased had been roaming around the village for many days. Some miscreants had beaten him to death after consuming excessive alcohol last night.
After receiving information from locals in the early hours of today, Sorada police reached the spot and recovered the body. It is being reported that two people have been detained at the police station for questioning in connection with this crime.
However, the reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained.
