Bhubaneswar: The Dussehra Puja festivities are likely to be dampened this year as another low pressure is expected to hit Odisha from September 25. The southwestern monsoon winds will remain active over Odisha, for which the rain in Odisha is expected from September 25.

The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center estimated that a low pressure may form in the Bay of Bengal around the 25th and 26th. It is likely to intensify and develop into a depression around the 26 of the month.

This will have an impact on the weather and rainfall is expected from September 26. The MeT department predicted that most places will receive rain on September27 and 28. It will have a greater impact especially in South Odisha.

The depression is predicted to advanced towards Chhattisgarh and then Nagpur from September 29. The weather is likely to remain dry after the September 30. An alert has been issued for 20 districts for light to moderate rain with thunderstorms today.

It is worth mentioning here that, the Navratri begins from September 22 and Dasami or Dussehra falls on October 2.

Similarly, on September 12, a low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal (BoB) at about 8.30 am which will developed under the influence of a cyclonic circulation. The low pressure area is located in the west-central adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts. There is a possibility of rain at various places under its influence in Odisha.
