Bhubaneswar: Dussehra likely to be drenched this year in Odisha as heavy rainfall has been speculated from October 1.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that a cyclone is likely to form in the North Andaman Sea by 30th September. Under its influence, a low pressure area will form around October 1. There is a possibility of low pressure forming over the north-adjacent central Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, the Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy rainfall is likely in the state from 1st October.
Meanwhile, the depression formed in the central Bay of Bengal is active in interior and south interior Odisha. It will weaken in the next 24 hours and turn into a clearly defined low pressure.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy rainfall is likely in the state for another 24 hours under the influence of the low pressure.
A yellow warning has been issued for thunderstorms and rain across Odisha for the next 24 hours. The weather department has issued a yellow warning for 10 districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri.

The department has warned of heavy rainfall in 4 districts of South Odisha.
