Double low pressure to dampen festive fervour in Odisha this Navratri

Low pressure rains in Odisha is expected from September 23 as a cyclonic circulation is active over Odisha in the Bay of Bengal.

Bhubaneswar: The Navratri begins from today. On one hand when festive fervour is gripping Odisha, the low pressure rain has arrived to dampen the mood. The IMD has predicted a double low pressure in the Bay of Bengal which will induce rains in Odisha.

According to the weather forecast, a cyclonic circulation is active over the North Andaman and the adjoining Myanmar coast. As an impact on this there is a possibility of a low pressure to develop over the Northern Bay of Bengal in the last 24 hours.

Similarly, another low pressure is expected to develop on September 25 over the north central and adjoining Northern Bay of Bengal. These double low pressure over the Bay of Bengal will induce rainfall in Odisha.

For heavy rainfall, a yellow warning has been issued to two districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj district.

The cloudy sky and the weather conditions is likely to continue even on September 24. The following day will show the wrath of rainfall as it is likely to increase in Odisha.

On the other hand, the cyclonic circulation is active over Odisha. As a result of which, rainfall continues in several parts of the state.

The depression is predicted to advanced towards Chhattisgarh and then Nagpur from September 29. The weather is likely to remain dry after the September 30. An alert has been issued for 20 districts for light to moderate rain with thunderstorms today.
