Diwali 2025: 28 platoon police force deployed for Paya shraddha in Puri
As many as 28 platoon police force and Four additional SPs, 15 DSPs, 14 inspectors have been deployed for the security for Diwali 2025.
Puri: The festival of lights- Diwali is just a day away. It is celebrated as Paya shradha in Odisha. Devotees throng to Puri to celebrate the day.
On this day, devotees burn kaunriya wood in the temple and call for prayers. A large number of devotees will gather at Singhdwar of the temple.
Puri police has made elaborate arrangements for the safety of devotees and for the smooth functioning. As many as 28 platoon police force have been deployed. Four additional SPs, 15 DSPs, 14 inspectors will look into the security arrangements.
Four places have been identified near Singhdwar to burn kaunriya wood and for the prayers. Arrangements have been made for two days on October 20 and 21st.
Traffic restrictions will be imposed from 4 am to 10 pm. A ‘No vehicle zone’ has been marked from the Market Chowk.
