Diploma student drowns in Tunki waterfall in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district
He was a diploma student of the Mayurbhanj School of Engineering.
Udala: In a tragic incident, a student drowned in the Tunki waterfall under Khunta Police Station limits today in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
The student has been identified as Soumit Kumar Patra of Murgabadi area of Baripada. He was a diploma student of the Mayurbhanj School of Engineering.
As per reports, Soumit had come to visit the waterfall with his friends. While they were bathing there, somehow his feet slipped and he was pulled into the deep water and drowned.
Following the incident his friends and others who were present there, informed fire brigade. Accordingly, the fire service department personnel reached the spot and initiated search operation. After some time they managed to fish out the body from the water.
A pal of gloom has descended in the area following the sad demise of the student.
